About the Center
One home for Charlotte’s Muslim community since 2006.
Who We Are
The Muslim Education Center (MEC) is a nonprofit, community-founded organization in east Charlotte, North Carolina. What began in 2006 as a place of prayer has grown into a full umbrella for community life.
Today, MEC is home to a mosque, full-time and weekend schools, a Qur’an academy, a free health clinic, an immigration justice center, a halal kitchen, and more — each serving a real and pressing need.
We welcome everyone, of every background, to worship, learn, be cared for, and belong.

We do this through a family of services working together under one roof and one shared trust.
